About Our Respiratory Programs
A&A has a very structured and detailed home ventilator training program. Caregivers will spend up to two weeks training so that they are competent and comfortable when their loved ones go home. There is a mandatory “live-in” period of 24-48 hours. This is where the caregiver(s) takes complete control and provides total care to the patient. This enables them to address any concerns they may have before going home.
Once home, the Respiratory Therapist spends more time training to make sure the caregivers are competent in their new role. Once settled, routine visits/calls are done to ensure compliance and clinical status of the patient. Each location has a Respiratory Therapist on-call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for emergency calls.
